air bag curtain deployed for no reason?
I have a 2008 mondeo and the drivers side air curtain suddenly deployed for apparently no reason doing about 60mph on fortunately a non busy road, it was a terrifing experience and I consider myself to be lucky to be here. there is no sign of any impact from a bird.When the smoke cleared I was able to drive the car. I have an argument going on with Ford after the hols anyone out there that has had this experience and what could have caused it
Sudden Activation For No Reason .
Several vehicles have been recalled in the last few years because their airbags deploy for no reason.
If an airbag suddenly deploys without warning, this not only causes face, neck, head and shoulder injuries from the air bag, but it is likely to actually cause an accident as the driver's visibility is instantly impaired.
What you should do is contact the local Ford dealership in your area and set up a meeting with the area manager but remember until they both look at it "do not allow them to fix it".
