Painting a kids table ladybugs?
I don't have a lot of money to spend on my daughters Christmas this year so I bought a kids table from Ikea that is unfinished Pine. I wanted to paint it white with ladybugs on it to match her room but I have no idea how to go about it. I am worried about using the wrong kind of paints and about maybe finding an easy way to make the ladybugs cute, since I am not artistic. I would also like to find a way to make it easy to clean since she will be using her table to eat, and to draw and paint. Any suggestions yall have would be great. I really do want this to be something special for her. Thanks again.
Paint the whole table in two coats of semi-gloss white enamel. Then stencil the ladybugs on the top.
I found these ladybug stencils and you don't have to be artistic to accomplish them. For the ladybugs you can use acrylic paint that comes from WalMart in their craft area, A. C. Moore or Crafts and Stuff.

Take the measurements of the table and contact a glass company to find out what they will charge to cut you a piece of acrylic (plexiglass) 1/8 inch thick to put on the top of the table.
You can pick it up and clean if after a project--OR even better, check out your fabric store for a piece of clear vinyl--which is what I use for my grandchildren. Easy to wash off and easy to replace.
