Lice??! HELP!!?
Ok...So my daughter got lice from a child at daycare about 3 months ago. Of course it was the worst thing in the world, I used NIX twice, mayo in her hair, and finally got rid of them.
yesterday I was looking through her hair (because i am paranoid) and I found 2 nits in her hair!??!?! Could it be that there was a reinfestation in her daycare? When she had lice before, I cleaned my house from top to bottom, I washed every item of clothing in the entire house, and i put all our pillows in bags and sealed them in the basement for like, 6 weeks!! This can't be happening to me again!
Well my question is, I thoroughlylooked in my girls hair, only found 2 nits. I am in the process of disinfecting my entire house, washing all the laundry, vaccuming the carpet, couches, beds, etc. Should I treat her with Nix again? I only found 2 eggs and I am hoping to God that there is nothing left in her hair. I braided her hair tightly last night. please someone help me!
Braiding won't do anything. It's entirely possible that you or another family member has it and passed it back to her. I'd check everyone. If you can, treat her again. Put pillows, stuffed animals, etc. in the dryer at the highest setting and throw other stuff in plastic bags in the freezer. If you can, go spend the weekend at someone else's house so your house becomes nit free. They can't live away from humans for more than 24-36 hours. If no one is at your house, they don't have anything to live off of. I'd treat EVERYONE with Rid or Nix.
