good instrumental music?

i need new instrumental music that's similar to:

Definitely check out Crime in Choir. I've been following those guys for years and their music is just dazzling. In my opinion, their best work was from their self-titled album, but as they've progressed through the years, they've gotten increasingly influenced by Godspeed!... and Explosions in the Sky. When I first listened to them, they vaguely reminded me of the music used for the Sonic the Hedgehog video games on the SEGA Genesis!

Hella is another excellent band, especially for those who enjoy speedy, complex instrumentation. Zach Hill is one of the fastest drummers I've ever had the pleasure of seeing live (over the years I'm sure he's broken hundreds of drum sticks and dozens of drum heads). He also played in Crime in Choir for a bit as well. Spencer Seim is a virtuoso of the 12 string and is also a member of The Advantage.

From Monument to Masses is an absolutely incredible and intense group to check out, especially if you enjoy Explosions in the Sky. They tend to use a lot of samples which perfectly fit in the sometimes tumultuous audioscapes that they create in their music.

*coincidentally, these three above are all from the San Francisco Bay Area!

Aerogramme (they feature vocals, but are nonetheless incredible, especially is you end up enjoying From Monument to Masses)

You might also enjoy Seattle's Deerhoof, although you've got to have an open mind when listening to 'em and some of the fun in their music is lost when not in a live setting. This recommendation is out of left field though and don't sound much like any of the groups listed anywhere on this page.

There was a website, Epitonic.com, which is no longer being maintained, that, before its redesign put Pitchfork to shame. It was without a doubt the best way to discover new music (before Pandora came around, which is actually getting to be a bit disappointing). If you liked a band like Amethystium, you could look up their page and get recommendations to listen to artists like Tortoise, Pan American, Lemongrass, Pelican City, Lunascape, and so many others. It's definitely worth a visit.

*if you do visit Epitonic, their search feature doesn't really work too well, so try searching for the band pages through Google.
